Voices & Stories from the Field
At MDRF Enterprises, we believe every firearm has a story, and so do the people who handle them. Whether you're navigating a family inheritance, cleaning out a storage unit, or just chasing a good tale from the woods, our blog series gives you three distinct voices from the field.
These aren’t generic gun reviews or secondhand opinions. They’re real accounts of what happens when experience meets action, from legal insights to backyard cannons to the rifles that never should’ve been sold.
THE GUN DESK
By Drew McDermott
Clipboard in one hand, calm answers in the other.
I’m Drew McDermott, owner of MDRF Enterprises and a licensed firearms dealer based in Saint Louis. I help people figure out what to do when firearms show up, after a family death, during an estate cleanout, or buried in the back of a storage unit.
This business wasn’t born from a love of collecting; it was built on solving problems. Over the last decade, I’ve navigated ATF regulations, probate confusion, and plenty of “Is this even legal?” phone calls. I show up, ask the right questions, and get it handled, discreetly, legally, and with respect.
The Gun Desk is where I share what I’ve learned: plain-English guidance on gun values, federal rules, estate traps, and what to do next. If you’ve ever Googled “how to sell a gun from an estate” at midnight, you’ll feel right at home.
UNCLE KENNY
By Kenny Moore
Worn leather, blue steel, and a head full of history.
I’m Uncle Kenny. I grew up with a .22 on my shoulder and a deep respect for the men who taught me to shoot. By eleven, I had my first deer. By seventeen, I was qualifying with the M1 Garand and 1911 in the Army. I’ve owned more guns than I can count, lost a few I wish I hadn’t, and I’ve told a lot of stories over a whiskey and a beer.
Uncle Kenny’s Corner isn’t about ballistics charts or gear reviews, it’s about memory, experience, and the way a firearm can mark a moment in your life. From bolt action rifles in the Ozarks to the sidearms we carried in Vietnam, these stories reflect where I’ve been and what these tools mean when the smoke clears.
LOCAL STORIES
By MDRF Enterprises
Real Pickups. Real People. Real Compliance.
At MDRF Enterprises, we work directly with families, heirs, and estate professionals throughout the greater Saint Louis area. Local Stories is where we share real examples of how we help, no names, no drama, and no guesswork.
Each post highlights what was found, where it came from, and how we handled it legally and respectfully. From dusty revolvers in South City to rare rifles in a Webster Groves closet, these aren’t hypotheticals. They’re proof of what’s possible when you call the right expert.
